Well, I’m back to coffee once again and this time it’s about how you can get that perfect morning cup for the day. We simply can’t deny that we all want our morning coffee to be flawless and that’s not really inevitable unless we pay attention. Yeah, there are a few things that matter when it comes to enhancing the taste of coffee and if you really are curious about these hacks, then come along! I have a few of them here:
Buy Fresh Coffee
When you go to buy coffee next time, look for the one which is fresh. What I would suggest is that stop buying the prepacked grounded coffee. Honestly, if you’re a coffee lover, then you don’t need it. Whole beans are what you need. Have you ever noticed that half of the coffee manufacturers do not mention the manufacture date, the date on which their company roasted the coffee? The fact is that prepacked coffee that you usually buy is not fresh at all because there is a certain gap from when it is roasted till the time you buy it and it can be a weak, a month or even a year, you never know. Once the coffee is roasted, it only stays fresh for a month. I’ve also written about prepacked coffee and whole beans in one of my older posts, read here. There are some shopkeepers who actually provide their customers with fresh coffee and sometimes, they even roast it in front of their customers. So, fresh coffee is what you are going to look for the next time you go shopping.
Use Mineral or Distilled Water
Water matters a lot when it comes to the taste of coffee. It even makes your skin nice. You can check out some health benefits of drinking more water in this study. People overlook its importance all the time because they do not really know that the type of water they use can affect the taste of their coffee and some think that using hard water would enhance the taste but don’t forget that hard water results into weak and light coffee and can even damage your brewer. Your precious coffee makers get mineral deposits which results in leakage and which finally leads to awful extra cleaning chores. Phew! You cannot even use extra filtered water which has no minerals. The optimal level is what’s required for anything and the same goes for water. It doesn’t have to be too hard or too much filtered. You can use distilled water and even mineral one. You can also add a few capsules and brew the distilled water. See? It’s not that difficult. Just keep your coffee natural and it’s going to taste just right. Check out this research paper about water and brewing of coffee.
The way and the day you grind the coffee is also another factor. After thirty days of being roasted, experts say that the coffee tends to lose the taste and the texture so what I recommend is that grind your coffee whenever you need it. If you grind it coarse, then you will get a pot full of weak and light coffee which of course isn’t desirable for most of you, and if you grind your coffee extra fine, then you’ll get a pot full of bitter coffee which you might not like again. I would suggest that grind your coffee at an optimal level and you would get exactly what you wish for without having to summon a genie. Hehe!
