What a busy month of May it has been over here at Solid Gold Eats! If you hadn’t heard, I am now a regular contributor to The Indianapolis Star where I have a recipe featured each Friday in the paper and online. It has been so much fun working on this new partnership and I absolutely love the feedback I am receiving from friends, family, and coworkers who have picked up my recipes and given them a shot.
My aim is to offer The Indianapolis Star a brand new recipe for their readers (and you) to try. You can find me in the TASTE section, usually page D3, with a photo, recipe and a few notes on how or why I created that dish.
My first recipe was a reprint of my Beer Braised Short Rib Poutine, along with an introduction of myself with photos and a short Q&A so you can learn more about me.
Jalapeno and Roasted Garlic Focaccia Bread – A spicy and savory bread that is thick and practically a meal in itself. Originally inspired by Emeril’s Herbed Focaccia Bread and my Green Olive Focaccia Bread.
(This one did not appear online – another reason to snag the Friday paper!)
Third Helping Scalloped Potatoes – We finally created a meatless meal. I just replaced meat with cheese.
Spring Farmers Market Salad – the Broad Ripple Farmers Market is finally open and to show my love for the vendors, I created a salad using ingredients I found at the market. Includes a nod to Indiana Microgreens, asparagus, radishes, greens and more.
Grilled Salmon Tacos with Strawberry Cucumber Salsa – Fish is a fantastic alternative to the standard grilled steak or chicken and much better for you, too. Bring strawberries and cucumbers into the party for color, crunch, and a sweet pop to a savory dish.
Duck Bacon and Brussels Sprouts Pizza – Maple Leaf Farms is at the Broad Ripple Farmers Market every third Saturday. Find them, snag some bacon and enjoy.

What’s next, you say? I’ll never tell! Pick up the Friday copy of The Indianapolis Star to find my recipes each week. Thanks for reading!
