In the busy and hectic days, there is nothing better than a big glass of a refreshing cocktail! Such is the blend of ginger beer, lime juice, and whiskey which makes Irish Mule the most loved cocktails of all times! It is the perfect combination of a sweet tinge with a bit of booze to get you grooving on the dance floor.
Irish Mule is basically a twist of the Moscow Mule which uses vodka in place of whiskey. If you’re a Moscow Mule lover, you will fall for the Irish Mule real quick too!
The best time to enjoy this drink is with friends and family on Saint Patrick’s Day but you can have it absolutely at any time of the year! It is very easy to make and does not even require much of your time.
This is not typically a traditional Irish drink but is totally tasty! You can anyway never ever go wrong with Irish whiskey that too when mixed with ginger beer and lime, the best trio.
It can be created for both extreme weathers – scorching heat (with more ginger beer and less whiskey) and chilly cold winter nights (with more whiskey and less ginger beer). Serve this in a fancy glass and give your guests a fancy drinking experience at home!!
Irish Mule Recipe
Level: Very easy (Beginner)
- 2 oz Irish whiskey
- 1 oz Lime juice
- 6 oz Ginger Beer
Take a fancy glass and fill it with ice cubes
Now pour in the required amount of whiskey depending on how hard you want the drink to be and how much booze can be tolerated!
Now add lime juice to the whiskey and then top it with ginger beer! Fill it to the top.
Stir all the three things together and mix well.
Garnish with lime slices and(or) mint leaves/stem if required.
Serve cold and enjoy!
- Ginger beer is only added for taste. You can use any other aerated (preferably non-alcoholic) drink in place of ginger beer and make the drink the same way!
- If you prefer more whiskey, add more of it and less of ginger beer or vice versa if you are a sweet drinker!
- Copper mule mugs go the best with this drink as they are the traditional cups this drink is served in and they also help in keeping the drink perfectly cold! Copper also increases the fizz of the ginger beer and enhances the taste and reduces acidity! Copper mugs make a huge difference.
- Muddled mint will do wonders when added to this drink!
- Use ONLY fresh limes.
