Coffee never fails to light up the day for you. In fact, it is now that you find it impossible to live without coffee. The emergence of coffee has led to the coming up of a number of recipes that have coffee as the key ingredient. Espresso, on its part, came up as a specialty coffee with a state of the art brewing procedure in its domain. This has led to the conception, and quite rightly so, that a special machine is required to brew espresso. It is not easy to create an environment for pressurized water jet through the coffee beans, thus specialty equipment, commonly known as the espresso machine, is required. However, we write this article to go against the common norm and to clarify the fact that a single serve coffee maker can, in fact, brew espresso without any trouble. This procedure only demands that a single serve coffee maker is used and the capacity is not to be exceeded without a significant change in the quality of output. Further, the quantity of coffee has to be kept as stated in the procedure. The common review of this recipe is generally positive. Having mentioned all of that, we will now proceed with the recipe.
1. The required time and other small details
As mentioned earlier as well, the quantities have to be well taken care of. Rest of the procedure is quite easy(quite literally). If you have a coffee maker at hand, you would only require 5 minutes to brew espresso. Further time extension depends on you. The quantities we are going to discuss in the ingredients are suited for US measurements. The resulting coffee would be a serving for 2 people. With that, we shall continue with the ingredients.
2. The required ingredients
There is nothing much that a good cup of espresso requires. The same is verified with the help of the list that follows:
- ¼ cup of coffee, ground finely
- ½ cup of water, cold
Having arranged these, move forward the process for brewing.
3. The brewing process
The process, as stated all ready, is easy. However, we recommend that you follow the procedure through properly, sticking to the instructions mentioned as under:
- Locate the brewing basket of your coffee maker and add the coffee (finely ground) into it.
- Now add the half cup of water to where you normally add water to the coffee maker. With that, kick start the brewing process.
- The quantities we have mentioned would be enough to result in ¼ cup full of espresso. The brewed beverage would actually surprise you.
This brings the process to an end. As is evident, the brewing process is extremely easy to pull off. That is to say, you can brew espresso at your home right at this moment. And that is what we recommend. Go for it as soon as you find your single serve coffee maker beside you. We don’t need to say that you need nothing for it. Happy brewing!
