And here’s why it pays to work hard and reach for the stars.
If you’re an avid reader of Solid Gold Eats, you’ll remember a post I wrote a few weeks back about KitchenAid. My love letter was about putting my thoughts on paper and letting people learn a bit more about me and my humor.
I’ve lusted for a KitchenAid mixer for a long, long time. Who hasn’t? Each year, my kitchen develops a little more here and there. A few new handheld appliances, utensils, towels – whatever it takes to build up the things I need to CREATE.
Little did I know that KitchenAid would hear me, and write back.
I didn’t write the letter in hopes of receiving a stand mixer from them. In the letter I even state that I’m not sure if I want a hand out or a contest win, that I don’t know if I’m culinarily-ready for such an amazing device.
But, when KitchenAid emails you with an offer that you can’t refuse, of course I accepted it with open arms.
The letter may have caught their immediate attention, but I was stunned to read an email from them in which they say they’ve taken time to review my blog and commend me for the hard work that I put into it, that this gift isn’t just because I tweeted to them but because they know a home cook with passion when they see one.
If I can toot my own horn for a second, let me just say that writing a post every day is my ultimate goal. It’s not always possible, and my heart hurts when I can’t get a post out every day, but this food blog isn’t here just to share experiences when they happen. Proactivity about recipes, adventures and things that I think every home cook and accomplished chef would enjoy are priorities that I keep in check so I don’t let YOU or myself down.
Thanks to KitchenAid, I’ll be tackling the recipes that I’ve always batted an eye to, like the breads listed in Emeril’s Kicked-Up Sandwiches, cookies, cakes, and more once I purchase the sausage grinder attachment that I’ve had my eye on. Maybe even fresh pasta? Who knows, the possibilities are endless and I’m excited to welcome this new stand mixer into my life.
