I posted on my Facebook page asking people what foods pumpkin should not ever be in. The responses were funny:
Pumpkin and me, we’re friends, but we’re not like, best of friends. I like the flavor, but I’m not crazy wow about it. What I like MORE is a really good bread recipe that is sweet and moist, and that’s exactly what I have for you today.
We picked up pumpkin beer at The Bier Brewery. My intention was to use it in this pumpkin bread recipe by replacing water with the beer. Who needs stupid water in a recipe anyway? It adds no flavor! At first I thought the beer might be too savory for this sweet bread, but my friend Tamre (who knows lots and lots about beer) confirmed that it would be totally find to replace the water with beer. So I did!
This bread recipe makes enough for two loaves, so use two 8×8 bread pans or, if you’re like me and only own one bread pan, use a bread pan and a 9×9 baking dish. It won’t be in the shape of bread but who cares – it will be delicious, and I bet you’ll annihilate it before you think twice about what it looks like.
