Earth Fare is opening a new store on Wednesday, June 26th in Carmel at 116th Street and Rangeline Road. Last year I had the opportunity to visit the Earth Fare opening in Noblesville, and I’m just as excited to share a few sneak peeks with you on the Carmel location.

1) It’s not just about food

Okay, it’s a grocery store, but there’s so much more than that going on at the new Earth Fare Carmel store. This location has a larger health and wellness section than the Noblesville location, with more sample sizes of products so you can essentially “try before you buy.”

If you want to learn more about my approach to Mind, Body & Wellness, follow this board on Pinterest and check out these blogs related to that category.

There’s even a salt scrub bar, where you can buy only how much you need at that time. Summer means we’re shedding clothes to step outside and play, so get your skin ready with some deliciously-smelling exfoliation.

Tom’s of Maine toothpaste and body products, Burt’s Bees and Bröö: oh, you’ve never heard of Bröö? Think body products made with beer, of course. OF COURSE. They smell delicious!

Ever seen a salt lamp? My yoga teacher keeps on in his studio. Just as natural environments like the ocean, a forrest, and just being outside can make us feel more at peace with the Earth, a salt lamp can emulate some of that. “One of the most effective ways of ionizing air is by placing crystal salt lamps indoors, thus simulating the same effect of an oxygen-rich environment such as a forest canopy or a salty ocean breeze,” quoted from Natural Salt Lamps.

2) But the food really is awesome

Earth Fare offers more kinds of almond milk than you can imagine. I recently started drinking almond milk over skim milk (although I’ll explain later why I think I’m moving back to skim milk), and I’ve never seen these varieties anywhere else.

LEMON and sea salt popcorn? Yes, please.

Earth Fare has many isles with gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, homemade, local, organic, sustainable, non-GMO and any other buzz word you can throw available. These were just a few things I wanted to share with you.

3) LOCAL beers & $15 wines

Fountain Square Brewing and Flat 12 Bierwerks were both on the shelves at Earth Fare in Carmel.

Along with a special section of $15 wines that rotate each week (one side red, one side white).

4) Community-driven (& new mission statement)

Earth Fare Carmel Grand Opening

Earth Fare offers many different community programs. They want to feed people (and not just those that can afford to buy organic). Burgers for Bucks, Family Night and Good Ole Days programs offer assistance to those who are hungry and in need of a great meal.

Because of their community focus, Earth Fare changed their mission statement to reflect that food and community are essentially two in the same.

5) Accessibility

While I loved visiting the Earth Fare store in Noblesville, it’s a bit of a hike for me. Though that didn’t stop me from buying my Thanksgiving turkey there and then driving it all the way to Terre Haute.

This Carmel store off of 116th and Rangeline is much easier for me to get to. However, their parking lot is smalle for as large of a store as they have. Earth Fare understands this, so they are offering FREE valet parking the week of their grand opening (Wednesday-Sunday).
