Who doesn’t want to surround themselves with four-legged furry animals? The dog-lover in me sure does, and I’m super excited for Mutt Strut, an event that benefits IndyHumane. Want to get in on this? Of course you do. Here are the details:
WHAT: Mutt Strut 2013, presented by IndyHumane
WHEN: Saturday, April 27 as early as 9:30 AM (See the full events schedule here)
WHERE: Indianapolis Motor Speedway
WHY? IndyHumane serves thousands of animals each year, with the average cost of services being $700. From medical exams, spaying and neutering, microchipping and other preventative and life saving procedures, IndyHumane needs your help to continue to serve animals in central Indiana.
HOW CAN YOU HELP? Join us at Mutt Strut with your four-legged friends by registering online to attend. Can’t make it that day? For $45 you can join the Drowsy Dog and Cat Nap Club! You’ll still get a t-shirt and your dollars will support IndyHumane.
What will you see? What will you do? Everything from doggie fashion shows, microchipping, appearances by the Colts and Butler Blue II, pet portraits and pet psychics will be available while you walk around the track at the speedway! The Indiana Family of Farmers will have a booth where you can get a doggie bandana – because ALL dogs look good in a bandana
It’s been an interesting April for my pups. One day, John let Dollar out in the backyard just as we always do, so he could do his business. But when he came back inside, his left back foot was bleeding and one of his toenails was missing! John and I believe he must have gotten it caught in the yard somewhere, so poor Dollar is toenail-less on one foot. Brandy, our strong, fearless boxer-pit, has a torn ligament and is on 6 weeks of crate rest, doctor’s orders. So unfortunately they won’t be participating in Mutt Strut this year, but that isn’t stopping me from volunteering to help IndyHumane with the event!
See how lazy they are? Best buds forever.
And because I have an excuse to post more dog photos, here’s a favorite of mine – Brandy, waiting for something to drop as I made cookies.
And here’s me and Dollar
Thanks to Indiana Family of Farmers, I will be volunteering at this year’s Mutt Strut. Visit their tent to get a doggie bandana and lots of hugs and kisses from me! (To your dogs, that is)
