Chances are you’re attending a holiday party or two this season, even if it is to just visit with family and close friends. I love the parties that say “bring food or wine/beer/liquor” because it gives you an option not to bake or cook if you don’t have the time.
For a festive alcohol option, consider picking up a bottle of Crown Royal Maple Finished whiskey, just released for this season. I’m into all things maple right now – I even added maple syrup to my brussel sprouts – so when I heard about this new product, I knew I’d have to get my hands on it.
By itself, Crown Royal Maple Finished hits your sweet tooth with a bang. Enjoy this on the rocks with some vanilla ice cream for a perfect pairing. There aren’t many whiskeys I can drink without some sort of mixer, but this one is delicious on it’s own.
Imagine a perfectly spiced liquid apple pie. That’s what you get when you mix Crown Royal Maple Finished with apple cider. Not only is this a delicious reminder of the holiday season, but it’s a simple drink that would be a hit at any party or family gathering you’ll be attending. Impress your friends by adding a cinnamon stick to mix it all together.
My mind wanders to think about what it would be like to bake with this – whiskey maple syrup, spiced apple cider and maple whiskey caramel candies, pretty much anything with chocolate… I’m sure this will make an appearance in later holiday dessert posts.
I enjoyed a drink as I started organizing my afternoon baking projects. Find Crown Royal Maple Finished at a liquor store near you for a holiday party, baking project or as a nice way to treat yourself! (Indy/Carmel folks, John has it at 126th and Gray Road at Classic Spirits!)
Disclosure: I received a sample of Crown Royal Maple Finished to taste for this post. All words and opinions stated are my own.
