Or, why you should try Heinz Balsamic Vinegar Ketchup.
Ketchup is my favorite (and therefore THE ULTIMATE) condiment. Think about it – it’s the perfect mix of sweet and tangy. It’s physically appealing on food compared to, say, tartar sauce, and the bright color is attractive and shiny. Plus there’s no crazy aftertaste.
Could there be a perfect ketchup?
GASP. There couldn’t…
But there is. And it’s called Heinz Balsamic Vinegar Ketchup.
First releasing their ketchup to Facebook fans back in November 2011 in an attempt to get the word out without using traditional television commercials or product releases. It became available to the public through Walmart one month after, but I don’t think I heard about it until some time later. Not surprisingly, that conversation also happened on Twitter. Evidently, Nicole Misencik, a meteorologist with WTHR, also has a passion for this delectable condiment.
We couldn’t find it at any of our stores for awhile, but when the day came…
It was AWESOME.
You think I’m joking, that I have some issue from childhood that probably needs to be dealt with, but in reality it’s just a high interest/desire to know as much as I can about ketchup.
And I know when something tastes AWESOME.
It’s like they made ketchup classy.
Sophisticated.
Something you’d find in a high-end cocktail bar.
It even looks a little sexier with a darker red color.
Whether you hate or love ketchup, EVERYONE needs to give this a try. I would love to see it make it’s way into mainstream restaurants.
Eventually I will get to making my own. I have a few recipes on the radar, but in all honesty the thought of spending $15 or more on tomatoes only to pulverize them into 3 small half-pint jars isn’t really appealing. Of course, it may just take one taste of homemade ketchup to change my mind! Until then though, nothing can beat this.
